Youth Engagement and Job Opportunities

  • Building strong partnerships with schools and colleges to engage with students and understand their priorities, ensuring their voices shape opportunities in Leicester.
  • Partnering with local stakeholders to create job placements and career pathways, helping school leavers and graduates succeed.
  • Teaming up with local sports clubs to promote wellbeing, organise visits and hold special events for young people across Leicester.

I’m committed to ensuring every child and young person in Leicester has access to the opportunities they need to reach their full potential. That’s why I’m working directly with schools, colleges and both our city’s universities, including my alma mater De Montfort University to understand what extra support is needed. I’m working to provide opportunities, for young people of all ages and backgrounds, that meet their needs and aspirations.

My goal is to work hand in hand with our local sports clubs to promote wellbeing and organise events for our young people, helping them stay active and supported in their communities.

In addition, we’ll work with businesses and stakeholders to create job placements, apprenticeships, career pathways and business start-up advice forums for young people across Leicester. This will give our young people the tools they need to succeed, and our local economy the talent to build and grow.
